Equal Marriage Law Passed in Thailand
Lets first understand what Equal Marriage means and which genders are included in this concept of equality.
You may have heard the term LGBTQIAN+ representing diverse gender identities. But what does each letter stand for?
L - Lesbian: Women who are attracted to women.
G - Gay: Men who are attracted to men.
B - Bisexual: People attracted to both men and women.
T - Transgender: Individuals who transition from male to female or female to male.
Q - Queer: Individuals who embrace their identity without limiting themselves to specific gender or sexual orientation.
I - Intersex: People born with physical sex characteristics that dont fit typical definitions of male or female.
A - Asexual: Individuals who experience little to no sexual attraction.
N - Non-Binary: Individuals who dont identify strictly as male or female.
Additionally, there are the traditional gender identities: Feminine (Women) and Masculine (Men).
What Is Equal Marriage?
Equal marriage allows individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations to marry, beyond just male-female relationships. It ensures that everyone receives equal legal protection, upholding human dignity and fairness.
